Another Peanut!

Welcome Ansel William Rocco! Ansel (AKA Another Peanut!) entered this world at 10:00 AM Tuesday morning. The jiu-jitsu moves he'd been perfecting on his mommy's ribs, bladder, etc. came in handy as he was able to let the doctor and a nurse or two know exactly what he thought of the proceedings with a few well-placed kicks.

When we checked in, the nurses told us we were "very boring," and our experience this time could not be more different than our previous adventure, which was much too far towards the "exciting" end of the scale than suits my taste. The entire process went as scheduled and on time, with Jenny, Ansel, and I getting to stay together for the entire day. Our first family portrait, in fact, was taken in the OR!

Mom is recovering beautifully, so we hope to return home tomorrow morning. Ansel is nursing and sleeping on a pretty consistent schedule and allowing his grateful parents to get some rest.

Ansel was born at 7 pounds 5 ounces and 20 inches long, nearly a pound heavier than Asher while being almost exactly the same length. He's got a bunch of hair; those funny hats they put on him make his hair spike up in all directions, which is, of course, awesome. Asher got a charge out of meeting his little brother and getting to push him down the hall in his baby cart. Ansel, for his part, has yet to register an opinion.

The names Asher and Ansel both mean "happy," a reflection of the tremendous joy these little ones have brought not only to our lives, but to so many of their family members and friends.

I've managed to get a few pictures posted and will try to post some more soon; click the thumbnail below to see the (not very) full album. Use the RSS feed (or check back manually) to see our newest peanut.
